Chesterfield’s premier office development – One Waterside Place, has been shortlisted for the Regeneration Award in the brand-new 2021 Love Chesterfield Awards.
The shortlisting recognises the potential boost the seven-storey Grade A office accommodation, which is being developed for Chesterfield Borough Council, will bring to Chesterfield’s economy.
The Regeneration category is sponsored by BHP Accountants who are also set to be one of the first tenants in One Waterside Place once it is complete later this year.
In May earlier this year, Yorkshire and North Derbyshire’s leading accountancy firm announced that it will take one floor in the seven-storey building, relocating from its current site on Saltergate in Chesterfield town centre to Basin Square.
BHP’s Joint Managing Partner, Lisa Leighton, said: “Waterside is a fantastic regeneration project and offers us a really exciting opportunity to provide first class office facilities for our team and also get behind transformational investment in the area.”
One Waterside Place is shortlisted for the Regeneration Award alongside Elder Way at Northern Gateway and The Glass Yard on Whittington Moor.
The Regeneration Award category is one of a number of new categories introduced to the Love Chesterfield Awards, which combine Destination Chesterfield’s annual High Street and Food and Drink Awards.
After a challenging 18 months, the Love Chesterfield awards are designed to celebrate and recognise the achievements of the town’s food, drink and retail businesses, entrepreneurs, contributors to the local community and apprentices.
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at the Winding Wheel on 20 October. Organised by Destination Chesterfield in association with Entire FM – Complete Facilities Management and Support, the ceremony will be Destination Chesterfield first face-to-face awards event since the pandemic.
Peter Swallow, Managing Director of Bolsterstone – the company behind Chesterfield Waterside, and chair of Destination Chesterfield commented: “We’re thrilled with the progress we’ve made on Waterside throughout the pandemic, especially at One Waterside Place. It’s fantastic to see regeneration being recognised at the awards and a huge honour to be shortlisted.
“One Waterside Place will fill the gap for a premium, high-quality office space here in our town. The town continues to grow and we’re delighted to play a role in that development.”
